#makeovermonday Updating that 80’s kitchen

A busy week ahead with a large staging on Tuesday in a beautiful home in  the Stonegate area of Brampton.   Before pictures to follow for #transformationtuesday  and the completed staging after my assistants and I are done.

A visit to my little grandson is also in order before I go on a little mini holiday with my hubby to Las Vegas  to soak up some sun for a few days.

I wanted to share this article that I found on Houzz.com 80’s kitchen updated

….Soooo many of the houses I  am asked to consult on  in my home staging/ redesign   business in Caledon and the GTA  have  a kitchen with the pale maple or oak colored cabinetry.

80's kitchen

My last house had this type of cabinetry as well. It’s not always in the budget to remove and replace the cabinetry as was done in this article, a fresh coat of paint can also make the world of difference. In my own home prior to putting it up on the real estate market ,  I hand painted the  kitchen cabinetry an antique white,  replaced the handles with a more contemporary handle that still matched the existing hinges and updated the backsplash to something more modern. The whole process took about two weeks and the cost was minimal, more sweat equity than anything else! And what a transformation!

Here’s a pale grey painted kitchen I found on pinterest , love the handles as well, might even be the  pantone color of the year color marsala, hmmm looks good!

I had staged our 20+ yr old  home and it sold in less than four hours! Whether you are updating your space to help it sell faster , as I help my clients achieve  or you are ready for a reno, I’m here to help!!

Thanks for reading my article!
