One hundred thousand over the asking price with no conditions… It had to be Angela’s staging.

When we discussed selling the house with a real estate team they suggested that we have the house “staged” prior to showings.  

I was very skeptical, having sold three houses over the years and never having heard of staging before.  They assured me that they had seen it at work and that statistically staging increases the sale price by 6%.  I reluctantly agreed and turned my house over to Angela.  When I returned home I slowly migrated from room to room. It was the same address but a different house.  Some changes were large, some very small and subtle, but suddenly the whole place worked together, colours, textures and shapes.   From room to room, everything fit and flowed together. My first thoughts were about how I had been living for the past 15 years and wished that I had hired her when I moved in.
     
Long story short, we were offered and accepted one hundred thousand over the asking price with no conditions, immediately upon accepting offers.  At the end of the night the realtor looked up at my wife and I and said,” I never expected that. It had to be Angela’s staging.”

As for me, I did expect that, specifically because of the staging transformation.
