I provide color consultations , furniture and art placement and redesign for my clients in the Toronto, Caledon, Etobicoke, Mississauga and Brampton areas The first contact is generally a phone call to my client to schedule an appointment for the consultation which takes about one hour on site. I ask my clients to create a Pinterest board of rooms that they like and invite me to share on the site so I can tailor my paint choices to their preferences.

When I arrive at a clients home to discuss a paint colour I ask questions to determine what the function of each room is and look for jumping off points to help choose a colour that will work with the items already in the clients home. Many times I am asked to help choose a colour and there is nothing in the room! This makes my job almost impossible! Is the home your “forever home” or is it “your for now home”? If you are thinking of selling and don’t want to paint again in the near future , neutral colours are they way to go. If it’s your forever home , have some fun let your personality shine! If your foundation pieces are neutral, things like your sofa or an accent chair, colour can be added to the room and then tied in with accessories like throw cushions and artwork. These items are inexpensive to replace/update if you decide in 5 years that you have grown tired of the colour or want to follow more current trends that you see in home magazines. I recommend a jumping or starting off point when choosing colour for a space.

An area rug, a favorite piece of art, colours that the homeowners love. What kind of colours do they wear, whats hanging in their closet? What are the colours in other areas of the home that we can incorporate so that we have great flow in the home from room to room. If there is nothing in the home it’s hard to choose a colour palate that will go with the homeowners items. If you are thinking of buying new furniture once your space has been painted its always a good idea to have an idea of the general colour of the sofa or loveseat, even if its a mere photo of what you want to buy. If it’s colour for a child’s room , what colour do they like ? is the bedding going to be replaced ? In many cases once a room is freshly painted the existing furnishing also need a bit of sprucing up to really bring the space to life.
